About the Ministry:
The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) is a key department under the Government of India, responsible for designing and implementing laws, policies, and programs aimed at improving the welfare of women and children across the country.
About the Internship:
MWCD is inviting applications from women students, scholars, teachers, and social activists for its Internship Programme. The initiative is designed to help participants gain practical exposure to the Ministry’s projects and policies. Selected interns may also take part in pilot studies or small research projects related to the Ministry’s ongoing schemes and initiatives.
The internship provides a valuable opportunity to understand government functioning, contribute to policy discussions, and advocate for women’s and children’s issues on larger platforms in the future.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to women from non-Tier I cities and rural areas of India.
- Applicants must be 21–40 years old.
- Must be enrolled in or associated with any university, academic, or non-academic institution.
Stipend and Benefits:
- A monthly stipend of ₹20,000.
- Travel reimbursement (3-Tier AC train or Deluxe/AC bus) for joining and returning after the internship.
- Shared hostel accommodation in Delhi during the internship period.
Duration and Schedule:
The internship is for 2 months, conducted in four cycles throughout the year. Check the schedule below:

Applications can be submitted two months before the batch begins — between the 1st and 10th of that month (e.g., March 1–10 for the May–June batch).
