The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting online applications for the positions of Assistant Government Advocate and Deputy Government Advocate in the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice.

Eligibility Criteria:
Assistant Government Advocate
The candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
- Minimum 7 years of service in a State Judicial Service, or
- Held a senior position in a State Legal Department for at least 7 years, or
- Served as a Central Government employee with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in legal affairs, or
- Hold a Master’s degree in Law with at least 5 years of teaching or research experience in law, or
- Be a qualified legal practitioner with at least 30 years of experience.
Deputy Government Advocate
Requirements include:
Law degree from a recognized university or equivalent, and
One of the following:
Minimum 10 years in State Judicial Service, or
Held a senior legal post in the State Legal Department for at least 10 years, or
Central Government service experience in legal matters for at least 10 years, or
Master’s degree in Law with at least 8 years of teaching or research experience, or
Qualified legal practitioner with no less than 35 years of experience.
