Job Summary
Tesco is looking for a skilled Legal Counsel – Contracts to join its legal team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, as well as providing strategic legal advice across the organization. This role involves working closely with internal teams, including other specialist in-house lawyers, to support business needs while ensuring legal compliance and promoting best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including those related to goods for resale and not for resale.
- Provide expert legal advice on contract-related matters across the Tesco Group.
- Promote and implement streamlined legal processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with specialists in areas such as data protection, competition law, and intellectual property.
- Address stakeholder concerns while identifying broader legal risks and business impacts.
- Support legal innovation through simplified processes and technology adoption.
- Work in partnership with Tesco’s UK and international legal teams.
- Ensure compliance with Tesco’s Business Code of Conduct and other relevant policies.
- Represent Talent Acquisition in forums and seminars focused on compliance, process, and audits.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Law graduate with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience at a reputable UK or Indian law firm.
- UK-based experienced paralegals or candidates with 1–2 years PQE and solid commercial contract experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with relevant experience outside the stated PQE range may also be considered.
