About the Role
We are looking for a Legal Manager to join the Support Services – Legal team at Kotak Mahindra Prime Ltd. This role involves overseeing legal operations, managing litigation, and ensuring regulatory compliance across business activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation expertise, team leadership experience, and a proactive approach to legal risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth legal research and provide recommendations across legal agreements and documents.
- Ensure timely and efficient handling of daily legal functions and support business operations.
- Identify potential legal risks and formulate strategies to address and mitigate them.
- Advise senior management on legal matters critical to business strategy and growth.
- Handle a wide range of litigation including commercial disputes, class actions, and regulatory investigations.
- Manage large-scale litigation across various forums including Supreme Court, High Courts, District & Civil Courts, Consumer Forums, and Lok Adalats.
- Lead legal processes related to recovery litigation (secured/unsecured), arbitration, MVCT, and general legal matters.
- Draft and vet legal documents including writs, appeals, complaints, notices, contracts, and pleadings.
- Coordinate with external advocates, law officers, enforcement agencies, and court officials.
- Guide and evaluate a team of legal professionals; experience in team appraisals is preferred.
- Open to travel across branches for legal coordination and hearings.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB)
- Experience: Strong background in legal roles within Banking/NBFC/Financial Institutions.
- Skills: Litigation management, legal drafting, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and risk assessment.
- Other: Must be willing to travel and work across branches as required.
