R.J.S. Syllabus Latest Changes
- Introduction of New Criminal Laws: The Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) have been introduced, replacing significant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act respectively.
- Inclusion of Commercial Laws: Key commercial statutes such as the Indian Partnership Act, Sale of Goods Act, and the Registration Act have now been incorporated into the curriculum.
- Addition of Cyber and Excise Laws: Important statutes like the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Rajasthan Excise Act, 1950 are now part of the syllabus, broadening its scope.
- Expansion in Family and Property Laws: The syllabus now includes extensive coverage of Hindu Law and Mohammedan Law, strengthening the family and property law section.
- Focus on Rajasthan-Specific Legislation: Region-specific acts like the Rajasthan Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act and the Rajasthan Land Revenue Act have been added to enhance local law understanding.
- Phase 1 – Prelims examination is of objective type.
- Phase 2 – Mains examination is of written type.
- Phase 3 – Interview
There is No Negative Marking in the prelims examination.
Phase 1 – Preliminary Examination
You will face the preliminary exam first which is an objective test of 100 Marks. In which 70% weightage will be to the subjects prescribed in syllabus for Law Paper-I and Law Paper-II, and 30% weightage shall be given to test proficiency in Hindi and English language. The question will be based on following subjects:
- Law: Same as prescribed for Law Paper I & II for Main Examination.

- 3. Phrasal Verbs and Idioms
- 4. Active & Passive Voice
- 5. Co-ordination & Subordination
- 6. Direct and Indirect Speech
- 7. Antonyms and Synonyms
- 8. Modals expressing various concepts- (Obligation, Request, Permission, Prohibition, Intention, Condition, Probability, Possibility, Purpose, Reason, Companies, Contrast)

Phase 2 – Mains Examination
The mains examination is consisted of three papers :
Paper I (100 Marks)
- Code of Civil Procedure, 1908,
- The Constitution of India
- Indian Contract Act, 1872,
- The Indian Evidence Act, 1872
- The Limitation Act, 1963
- The Specific Relief Act, 1963
- The Transfer of Property Act, 1882
- Interpretation of Statues
- The Rajasthan Rent Control Act, 2001
- Order/Judgment Writing
Paper II (100 Marks)
You will be asked question based on the Following:
- The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973
- The Indian Evidence Act, 1872
- The Indian Penal Code, 1860
- The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children)Act, 2015
- The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (ChapterXVII)
- The Probation of Offenders Act,1958
- Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005
- Framing of Charge/Judgment Writing.
Paper III – Language Paper (100 Marks)
- Paper-A Hindi Essay (50M) Essay Writing in Hindi Language.
- Paper-B English Essay (50M) Essay Writing in English Language.
NOTE : Minimum marks are 40% in each written paper and aggregate of 50% to qualify for interview. Relaxation of 5% each has been made for SC/ST/PWD.
Phase 3 – Interview
– Interview will carry (35 Marks)
